Rep. Horn Introduces Bill Recognizing Girl Scouts on 108th Birthday

On Thursday, Congresswoman Kendra Horn (OK-5) introduced a bipartisan resolution celebrating the legacy of the Girl Scouts on their 108th birthday. The bill also recognizes Girl Scouts who have earned the National Gold Award, for which Girl Scouts must complete a project that drives lasting change in their community while demonstrating essential skills and leadership. Congresswoman Horn is a fourth generation Girl Scout and a Gold Award recipient.

"For 108 years the Girl Scouts have empowered America's young women to be leaders, risk takers, problem solvers, and go-getters," said Congresswoman Kendra Horn. "Girl Scouting builds girls with courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Growing up, my experience in the Girls Scouts was transformative. My life and the lives of so many other girls and women throughout this country are shaped by scouting. This legacy I share with my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, and many more is something to be celebrated. I am proud to be joined by Republicans and Democrats in honoring the Girls Scouts on their 108th birthday and celebrating the tremendous impact they have had on American women."
